“Take Off” is a heartfelt short film about a little boy’s perspective of two parents separating. Young Kevin tries to navigate his feelings during this very hard time in his family. Kevin loves space and loves to escape in his imagination. However, as Kevin continues to live in a make-believe world, his sister Jamie is trying to pull him back to reality. It was written by, Jack Broddus, and directed by my talented friend, Bay Tamboury. They partnered with me to help visually tell Kevins story. The environments around Kevin, Jamie, and their parents needed to reflect who they are as characters and it was my responsibility to make sure they did. I had the best experience making Kevin’s cardboard spaceship that he gets inside in the final act to fly away from his troubles completely.
